Drake responded to his father, Dennis Graham, after the latter claimed that the rapper was lying about his relationship to sell albums.
?I woke up very hurt today,? Drake wrote on Instagram, ?My dad is able to say whatever kind of thing to anyone who is willing to hear it. It's really sad when the family ends up like this, but what can we do. With these people it has happened to us to be close. ?
Afterwards, Drake added that "everything used in the song has been true and sometimes the truth is difficult for some people to accept."
His response came in the wake of a recent Graham interview on Power 106 on KPWR radio in Los Angeles. He said Drake fabricated details about relationships with people to sell albums.
Earlier in the song, Drake stated that his father had problems with alcohol and was a missing father in his life.
"I've talked to Drake about this. I've always been close to him, ?Graham said. "Talk to him, if not one day, definitely the next day. We really talked about it. I said, 'Drake, why are you saying these things to me? Not good'. He told me, 'Dad, these are selling albums.' "
It seems that, with or without fabricated stories, Drake's albums have been successful as the rapper has three of them in the Top20 of Spotify's most successful albums - "Views" in sixth, "Scorpion" in seventh and " More Life ?in eighteenth place.
