The following theories serve as the solution to Fermi's paradox. What is Fermi's dry paradox? It is the contradiction between the high probability that alien civilizations exist somewhere and the lack of contact we have with these supposed aliens. Some of these theories seem plausible, others look like scenarios for Hollywood movies.
1. Advanced alien civilizations are seeking signals, not sending.
Imagine ten people scattered around the world apart. Everyone has a phone, but instead of calling random numbers in the hope of contacting each other, just waiting for a call.
2. The aliens are watching us as if we were animals at the zoo
More advanced beings that we are observing us instead of interacting with us. This decision can be supported by many reasons, whether they want to wait for us to meet certain criteria to communicate with them or just want to observe us in our natural habitat without being aware of their existence.
3. Humanity is not properly looking for signals from alien civilizations
Imagine contacting someone by calling a printer or sending a message on a home phone. The aliens may also be sending signals at the moment, but we're not hearing them properly.
4. Life expectancies of intelligent civilizations are very short (compared to the age of the universe) and do not exist at the same time
The time between the day that civilization is capable of transmitting radio frequencies and the day it destroys itself is so short that there can be no two civilizations at the same time.
5. There are other intelligent lives, but they are very, very rare
Life thrives under extremely specific circumstances, almost impossible. So there is life elsewhere, but it's like scarce water.
6. We are the only intelligent beings in the universe
Surprisingly, the idea that humanity is alone in the universe is no less daunting than the other theories on this list.
7. The aliens exist but do not want to be discovered
Probably to avoid the risk of detection. Perhaps they are predators roaming the universe and unwilling to make a sound.
8. It is well known that aliens exist, just not by the general public
Many people say they have been kidnapped by aliens and not taken seriously. What if the government is aware of the existence of aliens but does not disclose them to the population?
9. Advanced beings are so advanced that they see us as a primitive form of life
Neil deGrasse Tyson compared it to the way we see chimpanzees. Humans and chimpanzees have 98% DNA in common, but we are many times more intelligent than they are. What if the aliens were 1% different from us?
