It is known as vaping - the inhalation and extraction of smoke produced by electronic cigarettes and other similar devices - and is a widespread practice in America and not only. After finding cases of students smoking cigarettes inside the toilets, the headmaster of a high school in Alabama decided to remove the doors.
Administrators at Wilson High School in Alabama said they found students smoking in the toilet. So director Gary Horton told WAFF local television he decided to remove the toilet doors to stop such actions.
A large number of parents have reacted angrily to such an action, stressing that there is a need for continued staff control, but this does not justify removing the doors.
"Create a staff to monitor students' corridors and actions, because the bathroom is a private area," someone said. "I as a parent think it's too much," said another parent. "I do not agree," added another. "It's a violation of privacy."
Horton said the doors would return to a point in the future, but not until administrators found a solution.
It is not the first time in Alabama that such violations of basic human rights have occurred and suffice it to mention the May bill , where 25 Republicans called for a ban on abortion, even in cases of rape or incest.
