After her role in the film "Back in Action" that marked her return to acting after an 11-year absence, Cameron Diaz has signed her next collaboration with Netflix. The actress will be part of another action-comedy film, "Bad Day."
The film will be directed by Jake Szymzanski, known for the series "Jury Duty" and the film "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates."
The script for “Bad Day” was written by Laura Solon and features a single mother trying to keep a small promise to her daughter. The project is reportedly described as “a comedic take on Falling Down,” the 1993 drama film by Joel Schumacher, starring Michael Douglas as a father who loses his temper while trying to get to his daughter’s birthday party.

The 53-year-old film star, who has starred in successful films such as "There's Something About Mary," "The Holiday," "Bad Teacher" and the "Shrek" series, retired from acting in 2014, despite being at the peak of her career.
She returned in 2024 with "Back in Action," after being contacted by previous Netflix management, who offered her a high salary and the opportunity to reunite with her "Annie" co-star Jamie Foxx.
