Greta Ernman Thunberg, founder of Youth Strike for Climate Change, was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, along with 300 other candidates (223 individuals and 78 people alongside Greta).
The School Strike 4 Climate is an international student movement who refuses to go to school but instead participates in demos to seek radical changes in further policy on climate change.
In August 2018, Greta decided not to go to school and daily sits alone in front of Parliament in Sweden to try to draw attention to climate change on the planet.
Following the general elections in Sweden in September of the previous year, Thunberg began to sit in front of Parliament every Friday and since then, inspired thousands of young people around the world to join her challenge.
Her initiative was supported by thousands of young people in hundreds of countries around the world on Friday. "Leave school for a good purpose," was the slogan one of their slogans.
Greta was also chosen as one of the 25 most influential teenagers of Time 2018 by 2018.
