Demi Lovato's mother, Dianna de la Garza, gave her first interview since singer overdose this July. For Newsmax TV, she said she was very sad to hear the events of that day.
"I still find it difficult to talk about what happened," she said. "I start shudder when I remember that day."
In one day like all the others, Dianna de la Garza's cell phone was shuffling with messages and phone calls from friends and relatives who congratulated Demi for quick recovery. Dianna did not know what was happening until she was contacted by Demi's assistant.
"I was shocked. I did not know what to say, "Dianna added. "It was something I never expected to hear about any of my children."
On the phone, Demi's assistant told him that the singer was aware, but could not speak at the moment. There, Dianna realized that the situation was serious. Announced Demi's sisters, Dallas and Madison, and went to the hospital urgently.
"It did not look good. It did not look very good. I said, 'Demi, I'm here. Love you.' There he replied, 'I also love you.' "
Dianna said trust in God helped her greatly during the difficult situation that passed.
"I believe Demi is alive to this day thanks to millions of prayers that were held in her name that day," she said.
