Kardashian fans were outraged when they discovered in September that Kim's eldest daughter North West had a dermal piercing on her middle finger. Since then, North and Kim Kardashian have received a lot of criticism for the choice. After a few comments, Kim and North responded to a concerned user from their shared account: "It's okay."

On TikTok, among the comments read:
"North West is getting a finger piercing and it's breaking my heart, am I the only one who feels this way?"
Several other users came to North's defense, writing:
“How does it affect you?” or “She wanted the piercing and Kim left it. Let the kids express themselves.”

Despite the criticism, Kim has defended her daughter's decisions, saying North follows her path when it comes to style and beauty.
During an interview on the podcast Call Her Daddy, Kim said that her daughter is very mature when it comes to public criticism:
“She says, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t care if you don’t like it… my blue hair or this or that’… She’s very confident.”

Kim, who has three other children with ex-husband Kanye West, also admitted that it's challenging to be a parent to a pre-teen and asked for some understanding, adding:
“As a mother, I also learn along the way.”
