In the most famous courtroom in Virginia, where Johnny Depp is standing in front of his ex-wife, Amber Heard, all the attention at the moment is elsewhere: to the actor's lawyer, Camille Vasquez!
Vasquez serves as one of Johnny's lawyers in his fight against Amber Heard, whom he accuses of defamation in a 2018 article written for the Washington Post.
In the article, Heard described himself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse." Although Depp was not mentioned in the article, he claims that this affected his reputation and he lost the job of many other important offers for him. Anyway, back to the lawyer. Why at the moment, all those who have regularly attended the trial talk about Vasquez?
Camille stands out for her difficult questions, which made it almost impossible for the actress to give a precise answer.
During questioning at Tuesday's hearing, the lawyer turned Heard on several points, including her claim that drugs and alcohol turned Depp into a "monster" who became violent with him.
"Who was the real monster in this relationship, Mrs. Heard?" asked Vasquez.
"He's half Johnny. He's not all Johnny," Heard replied. "The other half of him is wonderful, beautiful and belongs to the man I loved."
Further, the lawyer presented numerous photos of Heard, taken days after the alleged incidents, with no visible signs of injury. Heard said she used make-up to cover the scars.
But who is Camille Vasquez?
Depp is being represented by a team from a major international law firm, Broën Rudnick, of which Ms. Vasquez is also a member. Known for her harsh nature as she interrogates and the way she brings details to the surface, the movie star's lawyer has gone viral on Twitter and TikTok following distributions by those who regularly attend the Amber-Johnny trial.
