Invited to the show "Ftesë në 5", Monika Kryemadhi was asked if she still believes in love after divorce. The question was asked by Bieta Sulo, and the answer was neither short nor diplomatic, but clearly thoughtful.
In her response, Kryemadhi said that she believes in love, but not necessarily as a new chapter at this stage of life. She hinted that while a relationship may end, feelings do not necessarily disappear in the same way.
"I don't think I'm at the stage where I can fall in love. I have my love, because my love with my ex-husband has normally gone through many ups and downs, challenges, and even when there comes a moment when love ends, it doesn't mean that love ends on the other side," she said.
At her age and with her priorities today, a new love is not on her list of urgent things. And here, Kryemadhi did not hide the fact that her personal and political history are closely intertwined with a single name: Ilir Meta.

"For my bad luck, perhaps, but also for my good, Ilir Meta has been my first and last love, I can say that. However, many people say 'never say never'. But why do I say this? First, I think that my entire political life began with Ilir Meta by my side. Politics brought us together and yet politics divided us," she said.
Kryemadhi also admitted that she probably loved more than she should have and that's probably why she says she doesn't feel the need for another love.
"When you love someone more than they love you, you're still full of the love you've given," she said, because it seems to her that emotional exhaustion comes not from a lack of love, but from its excess.
Ilir Meta confirmed on June 20, 2024 that he and Monika Kryemadhi have initiated divorce proceedings. They have been married since October 1998 and have 2 daughters and a son.
