Russia and Ukraine confirm new prisoner exchange after talks in Istanbul
The prisoners of war were welcomed to Ukraine as part of an exchange deal with Russia and were greeted by waiting relatives.
The release, carried out according to the Istanbul agreements, included wounded troops and soldiers with health problems, as well as some defenders under the age of 25.
Many of the released servicemen had spent more than three years in Russian captivity, with a significant number of them imprisoned during the defense of Mariupol in 2022.

A joint statement from groups supporting the protests said 83 people were seriously injured and at least eight people were being treated for gunshot wounds.
