US bombs Iran, Trump: "A spectacular military success"
US President Donald Trump has described the bombing of three nuclear facilities in Iran as a "spectacular military success".
He called on Iran to return to peace, warning that the US would strike other targets with "speed" and "precision."
"Either there will be peace, or there will be a tragedy for Iran, far greater than what we have seen over the last eight days," Trump said during a speech from the White House.
The US attack came weeks after Israel struck targets in Iran, while nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran were still ongoing.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard: "The war has just begun"
"The war begins now," Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared on Sunday night, following US airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran, according to President Trump's statement.
In a post on the Truth Social network, Trump confirmed that "a full load of bombs" were dropped on the Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan nuclear facilities.
However, US intervention could bring about another escalation, also referring to the Revolutionary Guard's statement.

Russia fired 280 drones and missiles towards Ukraine during a recent attack on Saturday night, of which 260 were neutralized, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region was the main target of this airstrike, according to the Ukrainian military.
The acting head of the Poltava military administration, Volodymyr Kohut, reported that direct hits and rocket debris have damaged energy infrastructure, as well as private homes, buildings, or vehicles.
