During the first episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which aired Thursday, June 148, 23-year-old Kylie talked about one of her most commented features: Famous Lips!
Asked by program executives Andy Cohen if "lips and insecurities around them" helped her "start and succeed in the beauty industry", she replied:
"Sure. I think this is where my love for makeup started, from the insecurities I had about my lips. I had very thin lips and I never thought about it until I had one of my first kisses and that guy said to me: 'Oh God, you kiss very well, but you have such small lips' - something like that. From then on, I felt 'incompatible'.
Kylie added
"I gained insecurity from what he told me, then I started painting my lips with pencil over the normal coming of my lips and it made me feel more confident."
"I had an insecurity because this guy told me something once," she continued. "Then I got obsessed with makeup because I was going to overestimate my lips and it just made me feel confident."
Mom, Chris Jenner, jokingly said that Kylie should name that boy one of the line's lipsticks or do a collaboration with him. However, now Kylie says that "she no longer thinks things the same way and obviously now she would not be affected so much.
Kylie initially admitted to using lip fillers in 2015.
"I have temporary fillers. It was just an insecurity of mine and it was what I wanted to do. I'm not ready to talk to reporters about my lips because people are always ready to judge us. Of course I would admit it, but s "I understand why people are so quick to judge," she said at the time.
In a 2017 episode, Jenner talks again about this:
"I did not feel beautiful. I wanted bigger lips. I started modifying them a bit with makeup and eventually ended up doing them."
