In a recent Q&A session on Instagram, Arbana Osmani decided to talk openly about some of the cosmetic procedures she has undergone, such as botox on her forehead, eye wrinkles, and lip fillers. As always, there was also the classic question, which carries a judgment note:
"Do you think wrinkles have their own charm?"
Arbana's answer was very clear:
"To be honest, no. I don't think wrinkles are 'cute' and I wish I, like my mother, like my grandmother, didn't have wrinkles."
Arbana also shared a personal detail where she said that she often begs her mother to get Botox, but she refuses.
"She holds her wrinkles with great dignity and does them very well, but this is far from 'cute'," she said, indicating that she appreciates her mother's decision, but it's not that it necessarily gives her any added value.
And for those who see this topic as something philosophical, Arbana added that all this care for appearance is more a way to protect ourselves from the invisible pressure we all feel:
"We all want to look younger. Another thing is if you accept age and everything it brings, maybe you live more at peace with yourself. We see it more as a self-defense mechanism from who-knows-who."
So, the next time someone tries to lecture you about the "beauty of wrinkles," don't argue too long. Just tell them what Arbana said. There's enough honesty and common sense in there.
