Kourtney Kardashian stated that she experienced a scary complication during her pregnancy.
"As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I was not prepared for the fear of fetal surgery," she wrote on Instagram as the caption to a photo of herself holding husband Travis Barker's hand in what appears to be be a hospital bed.
Fetal surgery – a procedure performed on an unborn fetus in the womb due to various complications.
Kourtney added, "I don't think anyone who hasn't been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for mothers who have had to fight for their babies during pregnancy."
"I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors who saved our baby's life," she wrote. "I am eternally grateful to my husband who came to me from the tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me."
"Thank God," Kardashian said at the end of her post. "Coming out of the hospital with my son in my belly and safe was the truest blessing."
