Two people have been arrested in Vienna, Austria, this Wednesday (August 7, 2024), because they planned a terrorist attack at one of Taylor Swift's concerts, at the "Ernst Happel" stadium. A 19-year-old boy, who has Austrian citizenship, and another suspect, whose identity has not yet been made public, have been arrested by the police.
According to Franz Ruf, head of the public security department at the Ministry of the Interior, the arrested persons may have fallen prey to Islamic radicals through the Internet. It is unclear why the two men planned to attack Tay's concert, but authorities confirmed that one of the sold-out shows was the target.
Taylor has yet to comment on the latest news. Meanwhile, the three shows that the pop music star was going to hold in the capital of Austria have been cancelled.

Through a post on Instagram, it was confirmed that the shows have been cancelled, following the police confirmation of a terrorist attack. "We have no choice but to cancel all three shows, for everyone's safety," the event's organizing staff wrote, announcing that tickets would be refunded. Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the concerts will take place at a later date.
