Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, the heiress of L'Oreal and the richest woman in the world, has become the first woman to have a fortune of 100 billion dollars, reports Bloomberg.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranks Francoise as the 12th richest person. According to L'Oréal, in 2022, Bettencourt Meyers and her family owned more than 34% of the company's shares.
Bettencourt Meyers was the only child of Liliane Bettencourt, whose father, Eugène Schueller, founded the L'Oréal Group. She inherited her mother's estate when Bettencourt died in 2017.
The world's largest cosmetics company, which owns several brands from Lancome to Maybelline, made more than 38 billion euros in sales in 2022, according to company reports.
