The singer has reflected on one of the most difficult periods in her life, as she describes the time when she separated for almost a year from her fiancé Orlando Bloom. Katy Perry spoke on a recent episode of Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast about music, projects, but also family and her little girl.
"There was a period when we were at the beginning of our acquaintance and we both had problems. That's because he had just come out of a long period of celibacy and I was fresh out of a relationship. So we had different thoughts and we just decided we couldn't go down the same path,” says Perry.
Katy and Orlando started dating in 2016, but broke up for almost a year before getting back together. They got engaged in 2019 and are now parents to a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy.
The decision to stay away from each other for a year and then engage in intensive couples therapy according to the artist is one of the best decisions they have made to move their relationship forward.
"We all have our strengths and weaknesses. But one of his strengths is precisely the fact that if I'm down and drowning in any aspect of life, he steps in like an anchor and is always there as my savior," adds Perry about her partner.
The singer is sure of the fact that the decision to follow the respective therapies as a couple was one of the best approaches that have influenced the idea of ??being together even today.
"Things started to change when I started to reflect on myself and to do this I didn't need an external push, but just myself. Situations began to change, I turned all my attention to myself and how we could fix things while we were apart. And here we are! On another level of connection and with more reasons to take this romance forward!”
