According to reports circulating on the Chinese social network Weibo, Yan allegedly cheated during competitions by using anal beads equipped with wireless, which send and receive signals. It is thought that he rhythmically clenched and unclenched the rings to communicate information about the chessboard through vibrations.
"It is currently impossible to prove whether Yan cheated through anal rings," the chess association clarified. But he was stripped of his title and banned from playing for a year.
