Jessica Alba has confessed that she did therapy together with her daughter, Honor, because they fought a lot with each other. The actress of the movie "Honey", 42 years old, told "Real Simple" that when her daughter was 11 years old (now she is 15 years old), they had several sessions with mental health experts.
"We fought all the time for stupidity...I thought: "I don't want to live like this, I don't want to have this gap between us", said the actress, continuing: "It's a process and I'm not perfect".
Jessica emphasized that this process helped her daughter understand her as a mother and that she is simply a parent. “As her mother, when I say something, she'll hear it as a fight, or like I'm trying to control her. I wanted someone to explain things to him in a way that I couldn't," said the star of "The Fantastic Four."
Alba, who also has two children with husband Cash Warren, Haven, 12, and Hayes, 6, said her second daughter has also joined some of the sessions. Alba described the therapy as a sensitive tool and emphasized that now her daughters do therapy on their own, without the presence of their mother.
Jessica talked about the importance of therapy. "Some people, like for example in my family, (think) that you talk to a priest and that's it. I didn't grow up in that environment where you can talk about these things and I just kept it to myself and moved on, so I get a lot of inspiration just talking to my kids."
Alba and her husband met in 2004, on the set of "The Fantastic Four". They got engaged in 2007 and the following year crowned their love.
