We've talked before about the power of positive thinking and manifestation - and we're not the only ones. Popular figures such as Oprah Winfrey and Jim Carrey have discussed using the practice of manifestation as a step towards creating the reality you desire. However, this process can be easily misunderstood.
A common misconception is to believe that your wishes will come true simply because you have expressed them. That's only half the job!
Although the concept is simple, manifestation can be complicated to master and requires commitment to your desires and goals.
4 common mistakes during manifestation
1. Expect instant results
In life we ??tend to seek instant gratification. We believe that information, shopping, entertainment and communication are instantly available with a click, at any moment of the day - whether through phones, computers or other devices.
But on the other hand, manifestation takes time, effort and practice so you have to wait before you see results.
2. Lack of clarity in what you want
Are you clear about the future you want to achieve? When we're too general with our goals, it's hard to define the steps we need to take to get there. For example, if your goal is to be more financially stable, how will this be achieved? Simply projecting a desire for more wealth is not enough. What career would you like? What would your working day look like? How many hours would you like to spend on your job?
Since we showed how financial sustainability is manifested, we are also telling you about love. Delve into the relationship you love: What does your ideal relationship look like? What qualities do you look for in a partner and what needs should he fulfill to make you feel good? Without clarity in such details nothing can be accomplished.
3. Ignore the path that takes you to your goal
If you focus too much on the destination, you will miss the journey. It's the journey that defines your success! The path you find yourself on may not be exactly what you expected, but it may be the best one to lead you to what you want, or perhaps to what you didn't realize you could achieve. It is important to be open to unexpected opportunities to welcome the positive change that awaits you.
4. Being unrealistic
We all have limits to what we can achieve in our reality. We just have to be aware of them.
They don't have to deter you, but being unaware of them will only leave you wondering why your efforts aren't yielding the results you expected.
A helpful way to think about this is that you can set your ultimate goal and begin to manifest it into reality. As we mentioned, positive thinking is powerful and allows us to be open to the changes we desire, but this must be accompanied by action on our part. Both are interdependent.
Manifesting is a wonderful and powerful exercise when done right. If you have fallen into any of the above traps (which is easy to happen!), this may explain any obstacles to your progress. To avoid this, we advise you to:
- To have patience
- To show gratitude even for the little things
- To take care of your energy
- To believe that success is the final result
