There are some things Italians don't forgive. One of them? How they drink their coffee.
If you've ever been to Italy and sat quietly at a table enjoying a cup of coffee, chances are someone has immediately realized: you're not a local. Because for Italians, coffee is not a long ritual, but a quick moment – ??usually drunk standing up, at the counter.
In fact, in many cases, if you sit at a table, you can pay more for the same coffee.
Another classic mistake? Ordering a latte . In Italy, that simply means milk. So if you don't specify, you could end up with a glass of milk.
The time of day matters, too. Cappuccino after lunch? Italians will notice right away. According to them, milk drinks are for breakfast and are considered "heavy" later in the day.
If you want to truly experience Italy like a local, the rule is simple: espresso at any hour, cappuccino only in the morning, and always, always at the counter.
We also imagine the "culture shock" they may experience when they come to Albania. Because here, coffee is not drunk in a hurry, standing up or anything. If they want to experience it like us locals, they should prepare for a completely different pace: to sit calmly, order without rushing, and chat for a couple of hours because coffee is more than just a drink.
