They may have had tea together, but things don't change that easily.
According to the Daily Mail, King Charles has been clear: Prince Harry will never return as a "part-time royal," despite the father and son meeting in London and exchanging some warm moments.
"Charles is a forgiving man, but he has respected his late mother's decision that there could be no 'half-in, half-out' members of the royal family," a palace source said.
"It looks like someone confused a cup of tea and a piece of cake with the Treaty of Versailles," another source quipped, adding that the "sweet" reports coming from the Sussexes' circle only make their relationship with the king more difficult.
Moreover, last week's state visit by Donald Trump, according to the royal court, demonstrated the strength of the modern monarchy: a strong and unwavering bond between Charles and Prince William, supported by other active members of the family.
However, a spokesperson for Harry said, "The Duke of Sussex is focused on his relationship with his father. On other matters relating to the royal family, there will be no comment."
During the visit, Harry showed photos and videos of his children, while singer Joss Stone, who met him in London, revealed that he showed interest in British schools and the community, hinting that a return to the Kingdom is not completely out of the question.
Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles as senior members of the royal family in January 2020 and have since lived in Montecito, California.
