
The trailer for the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, titled "Michael," has become the most-watched music biopic in history.
According to data from WaveMetrix, the company that measures viewing in cinemas, television and streaming platforms, within the first 24 hours of its release, the film's trailer amassed 116.2 million views worldwide, breaking every previous record and becoming the biggest trailer premiere in the history of Lionsgate, the production house.
The role of the “King of Pop” is played by Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew, who skillfully brings the legendary artist to the screen. Jaafar impressively imitates Michael’s iconic moves, including the moonwalk, while a scene reminiscent of the famous “Thriller” music video is also featured. The trailer will be released in theaters next week.
