Handing someone your phone seems like a perfectly normal thing to do. Until, as soon as the phone leaves your hand, your brain immediately starts remembering everything that's inside: private messages, photos, work emails, banking apps, screenshots you'd completely forgotten existed.
But there's another category of people who know this anxiety all too well: parents. Because when you give a child a phone "just for 5 minutes," they usually end up with 89 blurry photos, 14 open apps, phone calls, and an accidental purchase that they don't understand how happened.
For this very reason, many iPhone users are discovering a feature that has existed for a long time, but that most don't use at all: Guided Access .

This option “locks” the phone to just one app. So, if you’re giving someone your phone to watch a TikTok video, play a game, or watch a YouTube video, that person can only use that app, not your gallery, messages, or the rest of your phone.
Activation is very simple:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Accessibility
3. Click Guided Access
4. Enable it and set Face ID or passcode

Then, whenever you want to hand your phone over to someone, just open the app you want and triple-click the side button on your iPhone. The phone automatically locks only in that app. To turn off Guided Access , triple-click the side button again.
