Around 1 million smokers will be given the chance to give up cigarettes and this will be taken care of by the next policy that England has decided to follow. Recently, the British government has announced that VAPE (electronic cigarettes) will be distributed to 1 million citizens for free in order to minimize the harm caused by traditional smoking.
The English government aims to reduce the smoking rate in England by 5% by 2030. At least 1 in 5 smokers there will be provided with free VAPE.
Meanwhile, pregnant women will be offered an amount of 400 pounds in order to give up smoking, given that according to official data, in England 9% of pregnant women smoke cigarettes even during the sweet reception.
The nicotine that VAPE contains is much less harmful than tobacco and is considered one of the most effective choices for all those who want to quit smoking.
During a speech on Tuesday, Health Minister Neil O'Brien described the vaping policy (otherwise known as a swap for a ban) - as the first of its kind in the world.
Knowing well the psychology of people and the difficulty of breaking a habit like smoking, using vape instead would help people quit without being "forced" to quit.
Such measures have been well received by the British authorities, but although free vapes increase the chances of quitting smoking, it is not enough to achieve the intended goal.
