Lisa Kudrow has openly admitted that she wasn't always the most important character on the iconic sitcom "Friends." She played the role of Phoebe Buffay, alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and the late Matthew Perry.
“Nobody cared about me,” she said in an interview with The Independent. “A lot of people just called me ‘the sixth one from Friends.’”

Although she won an Emmy in 1998 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Phoebe, many did not believe Lisa Kudrow would have longevity in Hollywood.

“There was no vision for me and no expectations for the career I could have,” she recalled. “It was just, ‘How lucky he was to be on that show.’”
"Friends" aired for 10 seasons, from 1994 to 2004. Lisa Kudrow also spoke about her character in an interview with Lily Tomlin for Interview Magazine, noting how different she was from Phoebe in real life.

“At first, Phoebe was very distant from me,” she said. “It took me a lot of work to understand and justify the things she said and did. Not in an annoying way, it was fun.”

Over the course of the show's ten years, parts of Phoebe's personality were integrated into Lisa Kudrow. She read books on spirituality and other things to better understand her character's character. Kudrow insists that Phoebe was not the "crazy" character that some perceived: "At the time, everyone was like, 'She's so crazy. How can she just play the crazy one?' But to me, she wasn't."

Kudrow, now 62, also spoke about aging and the roles she'll take on in the future. She revealed that she hasn't had Botox since she was 60 and now feels ready to play older characters. "I'm scared of seeing myself one day looking like my grandmother, but I'm excited to play older roles," she said.
