The wife of the late actor James Van Der Beek, Kimberly Van Der Beek, and their six children are facing an "uncertain future" following his death. According to a GoFundMe page set up by Kimberly's friends, the family has been left with almost no income, making it difficult for them to stay at home.
"Following this loss, Kimberly and the children are facing an uncertain future. The costs of James' treatment during his battle with cancer have left the family penniless," the description said.
"They are working hard to stay home and ensure their children continue their education, and maintain some stability during this difficult time. The support of friends, family and community will make a huge difference as they try to find the strength to move forward."
According to the post, the aid would cover basic living expenses, bills, as well as children's education.
Although expectations were not high, less than 24 hours after the page was created, donations had exceeded $1 million, while according to reports, many people have continued to donate to the actor's family.
James Van Der Beek had six children with his wife Kimberly. He passed away on February 11 after a long battle with colon cancer. The actor's family announced the news on his official Instagram page.

James Van Der Beek was diagnosed with cancer in August 2023 and went public with his illness a year later, in November. He said he was dealing with the illness privately and receiving appropriate treatment, with the support of his family.
