Luiza Gega is one of the fastest girls in the world after her successful performance in the 3000 meters steeplechase, where she placed 5th in the final of the World Athletics Championships.
"On the track, Luiza again showed that she is the best Albanian athlete, setting a time of 9:10.04 and automatically a new national record in this discipline. Even Gega lowers the record by more than 4 seconds, which means that the time achieved at the World Cup is fantastic," writes Olympic Albania.
The previous record in this discipline was held by Gega with a time of 9:14.29 and was set on July 1 at the Mediterranean Games, Oran 2022.
"The 5th in the world! New national record 9.10.04. This photo says everything, I'm so happy," the athlete wrote on Instagram.
