Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have been in a relationship since April 2023, but both tend to be quite private. Neither of the two has ever commented on their relationship, let alone given details on their relationship.
But on January 5, they appeared together at the 2025 Golden Globes, where they were spotted kissing during the ceremony. Of course, their fans were "furious" on social networks.
But what does the body language expert say about their relationship?
Expert Patti Wood has "deconstructed" the kiss between them.
While Kylie, 27, and Timothée, 29, were photographed kissing, Wood says it looked more like a pose for the camera than a romantic moment.
"There's a strain in Kylie's facial expression, suggesting she's aware of the cameras," says Wood.
"Kylie is holding her arm very close to her chest, with her arm stretched out," Wood explains. "When we feel happiness and joy, our whole body language is more natural," she added.
There's "tension" between them, Wood adds, noting that Kylie seems to want to keep Timothée a bit away from her.
On the other hand, Timothée's arm, shoulder and hand are also back, which is unnatural when kissing someone, Wood explains.
"It would be more natural if his left hand went up and around her," she adds. “His arms and shoulders are back. There is an inconsistency in his body language.”
In this photo, Timothée and Kylie share a sweet moment holding hands. But Wood points out that if you didn't know, you might not think they're in a relationship by the way they're walking.
"It's just like, 'Hey, I'm escorting my friend to another table,'" she says. "They are not on the same page. He's not looking back, she's not leaning forward."
Wood says that sometimes when a man makes his way to his partner, there's a "defensive body language" that can be seen - but not in this photo.
They are proud to be seen together.
In this photo, it's clear that Timothée is happy to be by Kylie's side.
"It's a sly happiness: 'Look who I'm with,'" says Wood. But Kylie is posing, arm down and leg out, as she introduces us to her nails," says Wood.
"There's another inconsistency with Timothée's body language," Wood points out. "His upper body is leaning towards Kylie, but his legs are positioned away from her - meaning he's not fully leaning on her," she says.
Overall, Wood says the pair are happy to be out in public together, but don't seem to be on their best days at the moment.
