Considering that in good meetings, people always show their best - how can we read them more easily?
A 2020 study concluded that some people are easier to read than others. They are "open books", easy to read in terms of personality even after only a brief interaction. However, some people are not that easy to read. What makes the difference?
When you feel good, you look good
Some first dates are very easy to read after only three minutes. Although creating the right impressions can be more challenging on first dates, the best partners in wellness can be easier to read. They described people with well-being as "those who reported greater self-confidence, satisfaction with life, and positive relationships with others."
Previous research shows that well-being is likely to improve expressive accuracy. People who enjoy a higher level of well-being also behave more in line with their personality because they feel good about that personality.
One of the most important things many singles look for in a first date is the opportunity to connect with each other authentically. Not through pretense, but through personality.
So although relationships begin through first impressions, healthy couples evolve and grow. A positive attitude towards life and yourself increases the chances that this evolution will be healthy.
