The eyes of the whole world were on the United States yesterday, where Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States. Although Trump made strong statements, it seems that the attention was "snatched" by his wife, Melania Trump.
The First Lady of the United States appeared serious and elegant, her outfit meticulously crafted in every detail. Initially, it was the hat that almost covered her entire portrait that caught the eye the most, as she paired the outfit with a long coat and high heels.
Her hat was designed by Eric Javits, who told ABC News he was "very honored and very moved by the whole experience."
“When I was creating the hat in my hands, it was a simple hat. It was understated, it was classic,” Javits said. “When I saw it on her head, it really transformed. The experience was so powerful because it all worked together. And of course, you know, it speaks to her grace and presence. The visual impact is so strong, and I feel so grateful to have been chosen to create it for her,” Javits said.
But, beneath the elegant coat, Melania Trump's glamorous dress was "hidden", and known for her style that never disappoints, she impressed us again this time.
The dress bears the "stamp" of American designer Adam Lippes, who said it was created by America's best craftsmen.
"The tradition of the presidential inauguration embodies the beauty of American democracy, and today we had the honor of dressing our first lady, Mrs. Melania Trump. Mrs. Trump's dress was created by some of America's finest craftsmen, and I am so proud to show such artistry to the world," Lippes said in a press release.
It should be said that wearing a hat to a presidential inauguration is not that unusual. Previous first ladies, including Mamie Eisenhower, Nancy Reagan, and Jackie Kennedy, wore hats on Inauguration Day.
