Aubrey Plaza is pregnant with her first child. The actress, 41, is expecting a baby with her partner, actor Christopher Abbott, and is expected to give birth in the fall, People reports. A source told the outlet: “It was a lovely surprise after an emotional year. They feel very blessed.”
Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott were seen together in January 2020 at the Sundance Film Festival with their Black Bear co-star Sarah Gadon, and Plaza recently covered her belly during Paris Fashion Week in an oversized black leather coat.
She tragically lost her late husband, Jeff Baena, in January 2025, who committed suicide, according to documents from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office. The couple, married since 2021, had separated four months before Jeff Baena's death.
Plaza spoke about his loss for the first time in August 2025 during a podcast with Amy Poehler, saying:
"In this moment, I feel happy to be with you. Overall, I am present and functioning." She added that she felt "very grateful to be in this world" and that she felt "okay."
Aubrey Plaza then openly described her pain:
"It's always like a big, scary ocean that's there and I see it."
She continued:
"Sometimes I want to immerse myself in it and be there, and sometimes I look at it and sometimes I try to walk away, but it's always there."
It's not known exactly when the romantic relationship between Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott, 40, began, but they have been working together for years.
