Aubrey Plaza and her late husband Jeff Baena had been separated for several months before he passed away, according to TMZ.
Aubrey and Jeff's marital difficulties are revealed in the medical examination report, and the documents show that Baena had been separated from his wife since September 2024.
Aubrey's husband was found dead in his Los Angeles-area home this January by his dog walker, who called the police.
Police said Jeff had a phone conversation with Aubrey the night before he was found dead. Aubrey had also confirmed to police that they had broken up.
Aubrey told them that Jeff had been in therapy consistently, but had not had any previous suicide attempts.
The documents state that no drugs or alcohol were found at the scene or in Jeff's system, and no suicide note was found from him after the serious incident.
Aubrey and Jeff married in 2021 and had no children together. Aubrey described her ex-husband's death as an "unimaginable tragedy."
