An ambivert is someone who displays the qualities of an introverted and extroverted man, depending on his humor, his goals or a certain situation. They are often known as socialized introverts, who can get away from certain people and situations, where they need to be.
If you find yourself in the following situations, you are probably an ambivalent person:
-Being the center of attention is fun, until you do not want it to last anymore.
- Some people know you as reserved and serious, others know you as a social and smiling man.
- Often, you get lost in your thoughts, or you don't pay attention to the conversation you are having.
- Fast and short conversations are not that they do not make you feel comfortable, but you get bored of them quickly.
- When it comes to trusting someone, sometimes you are very skeptical, sometimes you don't think much.
- You are empathetic, aware people and adapt quickly.
Introverts are calm, reserved, and often thoughtful individuals. You do not like social engagements and get energy by staying alone (via Healthline). Extroverts are friendly and very social people. An extrovert is someone who gets energy by standing around other people.
These two qualities seem to contradict each other and yet people often feel that they have both. If you have not yet figured out which of them you are, you are probably ambivalent, a little of both.
Knowing this feature about yourself is important, as it helps you discover how to gain your energy. True ambivalents are relatively rare. In some studies, only 20% of the population or less are thought to be.
