For the first time in 68 years on the throne, the queen cancels the tradition that the country makes on the occasion of her birthday! Queen Elizabeth turns 94 on April 21, but this year she has absolutely banned the greetings that are given to her every birthday through guns.
This multi-year tradition will not be held this year as a result of coronavirus in London and around the world. Usually, royal greetings through arms are held at several different locations in London on her birthday, but in the circumstances, the queen demanded their cancellation.
She is expected to spend the day in Windsor Castle, where she and her husband are Duke of Edinburgh. Other family members will congratulate him via video calls.
This year, none of the government buildings is forced to wave the national flag, another tradition held in honor of her birthday.
