A serious incident rocked the city of Rrëshen late yesterday evening, where last year's student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Tirana, Adela Gjoka, ended her life by jumping off the 11th floor of the palace where she lived.
Relatives of the deceased told media that the girl had health problems and had recently undergone a checkup at the hospital as her condition did not improve.
Other sources say that the stress of exams and severe economic problems forced Adela to jump from the 11th floor of her palace where she lived with her parents, a flat that the owner of the palace had forgiven for lacking economic opportunities.
It is also said that she had long been looking for a job as a way to help her family living in extreme poverty and in debt to pay off.
Residents said Adel had worn a handkerchief before jumping out of the palace.
