Apple unveiled new iPhones, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, with new cameras, improved screens, faster processors and longer battery life.
The new models, released Tuesday at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, are an upgrade of last year's models, the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR.
The new iPhones are designed similar to the older ones, and have the same size with the finer bezel screens as the Face ID, which was introduced in 2017 on the iPhone X. New models will be available in a variety of colors, including a matt version of the iPhone 11 Pro.
iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max
The iPhone Pro comes in two sizes, at 5.8 inches or 6.5 inches. Upgraded Super Retina XDR OLED screens have higher resolution, more light and are more battery efficient.
This year's innovation is the large square at the back of the handset, which features a triple camera system for the iPhone 11 Pro. The three 12-megapixel cameras function similarly to the dual camera of previous iPhones.
Apple said it brought three cameras together to enhance color and light, turning the iPhone into a system for filming and editing professional videos.
The new cameras perform better in low light environments and deliver better quality, more detailed images overall.
Also, the front camera is now 12 megapixels, captures wider photos and 4K shoots. The front camera can capture video in slow motion.
iPhone 11
The 6.1-inch iPhone 11 is the direct replacement for the iPhone XR. There are two cameras this time, one of which is angular.
The cheaper iPhone can shoot 4K video from both cameras. According to Apple, iPhone makes the most quality videos to date, with the exception of iPhone Pro.
The iPhone has an LCD screen, just like the iPhone XR.
All new iPhones have a Bionic A13 chip, which Apple says is the fastest CPU on a smartphone in smartphone history.
The iPhone 11 battery will last an hour longer than the iPhone XR, which already had the longest battery. The iPhone 11 Pro will last four hours longer than the iPhone XS and iPhone 11 Pro Max, five hours longer than the iPhone XS Max.
iPhone 11 will cost $ 699, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will cost $ 999 and $ 1099 respectively. Shipments start on September 20th.
