Conor McGregor has lost his appeal in a civil case alleging sexual assault, after the Court of Appeal in Dublin, Ireland, dismissed his application on Thursday, July 31. The three-judge panel rejected the appeal "in its entirety," according to Irish media reports.
The civil case was brought by Nikita Hand, who sued McGregor over an incident that she says occurred after a Christmas party in 2018. She claims the UFC star sexually assaulted her at a Dublin hotel.
McGregor, who has been one of the most famous and controversial figures in the sport of martial arts for years, has categorically denied the allegations. However, in November last year, the court found him guilty of sexual assault and ordered him to pay about $250,000 in damages.
After being found guilty, McGregor appealed the verdict in February, stating:
"Justice and truth will triumph!"
Nikita Hand was present in the courtroom when the Court of Appeal's decision was announced. McGregor did not attend in person.
Meanwhile, the former UFC champion has spent much of this summer on a luxury yacht and was recently seen drinking beer at sea, to celebrate the fact that one of his bars was not damaged by a recent fire.
So far, he has not made any public comments on the court's latest decision.
