The Audiovisual Media Authority has attracted Top Channel's attention to last Saturday's "I Want to Make You Happy" betting, which, among other things, was addressed by Mrs. Elida's story.
Elida invited her husband to the show to apologize for being sent to the police, a denunciation that resulted in eight months of deprivation of liberty. She undertook this step after a violent episode at home, as she was pregnant.
"Given the numerous reactions to social networks and the response of a group of organizations working to protect and promote human rights, women's and women's rights, he considered 'I want to make you happy,' the paper reads that AMA sent Top Channel.
"The confession of the lady, who accepts the violence exercised against her by her husband, tolerating and justifying it, legitimizes the exercise of gender-based violence, thus violating the principles sanctioned by the law," the paper reads.
The segment in question "I Want to Make You Happy" has violated two points, one of the law no. 97/2013 "On audiovisual media in the Republic of Albania", and one of the Broadcasting Code. Accordingly, in the violated points it is said that "audiovisual service operators, in the conduct of their activity, are guided by ... the prohibition of transmissions that incite violence among citizens" and "audiovisual broadcasts should not incite hatred, intolerance, discrimination or justify violence among citizens. "
AMA imposed the "Attracting" sanction on Top Channel and in case of repetition, will refer to Law 97/2013 on the proceeding.
