Charges of racism: Prince William breaks the silence

Prince William has defended the royal family over allegations of racism made by his brother, Prince Harry, and sister-in-law Meghan Makle.

Prince William stated that royalty are not "a racist family". In comments made today (via People), while visiting a school in east London, William became the first royal to directly address his brother and Meghan Markle interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Buckingham Palace tried to respond to Harry and Meghan's allegations of racism and ill-treatment in a statement , but failed to quell the controversy.

"The whole family is sad as they learn how challenging the last few years have been for Meghan and Harry. The issues addressed, especially that of racism, are troubling. They have been taken very seriously and the family will be dealing with them privately. "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very dear members of the family." - was written in the official announcement.

In the much- talked- about interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle said that when she was pregnant with her first child, Archie, someone in the royal family raised "concerns" about how dark the baby's skin would be.

Neither Meghan nor Harry preferred to reveal who was behind these "concerns", but for "This Morning" on CBS, Oprah said it was not Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

"He [Harry] did not share his identity with me, but he wanted to make sure I knew and if I had a chance to share this information, that it was not his grandmother and grandfather. He did not tell me who was part of these "Conversations. As you can see, I tried to get an off-camera answer."
