America Ferrera is happy about her nomination in the "Best Actress" category at the Oscars, but at the same time, very disappointed that Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig did not receive any nominations. In an interview with Variety, Ferrera said that they both deserved it.
"I'm extremely disappointed that they weren't nominated," said Ferrera, who plays Gloria in the film. "Greta has done everything a filmmaker can do and deserves, creating this world and taking something that wasn't intrinsic value to most people to turn it into a global phenomenon. "It's disappointing not to see him on the list," America said.
As for Robbie, Ferrera, 39, said: “What Margot has achieved as an actress is incredible. One thing about Margot as an actress is that she makes things look so easy and maybe people are fooled into thinking that the job is easy, but Margot is like a magician in front of the screen. It was an honor in my career to witness the fantastic performance he gave," referring to the movie Barbie.
"There would be no Ken without Barbie and there would be no Barbie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the 2 people who are responsible for the film that made history, internationally", she concluded and added that she feels proud and happy about her nomination.
Anyway, "Barbie" has been nominated in 8 categories, including the best film.
