Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife have been found dead in their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 63, a pianist, were found dead along with their dog. Local authorities have not released details about the cause of death, although no foul play is suspected.

"All I can say is that we are in the midst of a preliminary investigation into the cause of death," the sheriff said. "I want to assure the community and the neighborhood that there is no immediate danger to anyone."
Hackman was one of the most respected and honored actors of his time. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for the 1971 action film The French Connection. He won a second Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the 1992 Western Unforgiven.

The actor and former Marine was also known for his role as Lex Luthor in the Superman films, as well as starring in classics like "Bonnie and Clyde," "The Conversation," "Mississippi Burning," and more.

Hackman was married twice. He had three children from his first marriage to Feye Maltese, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Leslie. In 1991, he married Betsy Arakawa.
