Can Coronavirus be infected by packages coming from China

If you've ordered something from Alibaba or AliExpress, you're not the only one. If you're afraid to get it in the mail for not infecting you with coronavirus, you're not the only one. Yesterday, dozens of you asked us if you could fearlessly withdraw the packages coming from China, and it looks like you can.

Some Americans also responded to the same concern with officials from the Center for Disease Control. There is no evidence that coronavirus can be spread through imported goods

"In general, since coronaviruses do not survive long on inanimate surfaces, the chances of them being spread by products coming from China are very low," said Dr. Nancy Messonnier of the CDC.

Even in the worst case - for example, an infected person smashed the bag ordered by AliBaba, sent it by mail and handed it to the recipient - the risk is almost zero.

Little is known about this specific virus because it is young, but its siblings, SARS and MERS, can only live for a few hours on the surface of an object. It takes at least a week for a package to come from China to Albania, so the virus would not survive long enough to infect the recipient of the package. These types of viruses can pass from person to person.
