Florjan Binaj, the famous comedian, was invited to Andale Media's new late night show , "Me nder jush" , where he spoke about his career, the radio show that has marked over 20 years, "Rikoshet", and his political plans as a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana.
During the interview, moderator Denis Taullaj asked him if he would continue the radio show if he were mayor.
"I think there is no law that prohibits a person who belongs to political life, whether as mayor or mini-municipality or something similar, no more than that," said Florjani.
Asked if he would run again for mayor of Tirana, he said:
"Yes. Yes, because the first time it wasn't interrupted by me, so I want to give this opportunity to all citizens whose voice is unheard, where their opinion or life in the city is unsupported, and why not unite many people who think like me, who have reached where they are like my work, and give the capital for the first time a group of professional people who know how to say 'no', who are not there to collect votes, but are there to collect their skills for the good of serving the city."
Returning once again to the initial idea that he would do a radio show even if he were elected mayor, Binaj also mocked the prime minister:
"As long as there is no law that prohibits it [I will do it]... If Pasha listens to this now, tomorrow... [makes signs that mean he will write on social networks]"
He confirmed that he will run in 2027, but also mentioned the uncertainty brought by international developments:
"If the elections are held in 2027, I will run, but now it is unknown what will happen with this war that is happening in Iran..."
Florjan Binaj announced his candidacy for the Municipality of Tirana in October 2025. In his post on social media, he expressed the need for a civic leader:
“We need a civic leader elected by the citizens for the citizens, because none of us can wait another 34 years. That is why I have decided to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Tirana, giving my all to represent every citizen as worthily as possible… I invite all citizens, intellectuals from the left and right to join us. Thank you!”
After the Constitutional Court's decision that left Erion Veliaj in office, Florjan reacted:
“For me and for the citizens of Tirana, the essence remains the same: Tirana needs change. I will run for mayor of Tirana whenever the elections are held, with the same conviction, dedication and energy to serve the people with honesty, responsibility and transparency. Our journey continues. Nothing will stop the change that the citizens of Tirana want.”
