Sometimes it's hard to find motivation, even when you really want it. Instead of tackling your long to-do list and dozens of projects you've been putting off, you put it off for another day and stay in bed enjoying your algorithm's carefully selected videos.
While it's always normal to have a period of laziness, some zodiac signs will feel incredibly productive this fall, thanks to a cosmic boost the stars are giving them. According to Katherine Wehler, professional astrologer and New Paradigm Business & Soul Coach, when it comes to productivity, success, career, and getting things done, astrology points to a trio of planets: Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars.
“Jupiter gives you the confidence and optimism to believe that great things are possible. Mars brings the energy, action, and commitment to make those things happen. And Saturn gives structure, discipline, and long-term vision to keep your momentum going and ensure that what you’re building lasts.”
Carmen Turner Schott, MSW, LCSW, astrologer and therapist, says that Mercury's retrograde this season, from November 9 to November 29, can also affect energy levels and may inspire some of the zodiac signs to take action.
“This is a great time to finish old projects that you’ve been putting off or neglecting,” she says. “It can also help you be more productive and committed to completing tasks from the past.”
With that in mind, here are the four signs that will have the most productive fall:
Crab
Cancerians will benefit from the fearsome Mercury retrograde that usually sends others into chaos. Instead of experiencing communication delays or technological problems, this air sign should use the chaos to its advantage.
Mercury is the planet of creativity and communication. “Finding unique ways to get things done will be Cancer’s gift this fall,” says Turner Schott. “They can accomplish a lot by thinking carefully and working smarter.” While others feel scattered, Cancerians will step forward, making their productivity and accomplishments even more noticeable. (They could also come to someone’s aid at work and look like a real hero.)
Uranus, the planet of innovation, will also be in Cancer until early November. This means Cancerians can expect increased mental speed, intelligence, and inspiration, all of which lead to greater productivity. It's the perfect time to tie up loose ends, complete tasks on your list, and perhaps even solve any lingering problems.
Virgo
As a sign that multitasks, Virgos are typically productive all year long. But for those who have been in a weak phase, things will start to improve this fall. As another sign ruled by Mercury, the upcoming retreat will feel like a necessary reboot.
It's the perfect time for this earth sign to break out of a boring routine that's no longer working, pick up some inspiring and creative new habits, or restart long-forgotten projects. This season will be all about optimizing routine and getting things done.
Virgos also got an extra boost this season from the new moon and solar eclipse that occurred in their sign on September 21, says Turner Schott. This was another big reboot that helped Virgos let go of what wasn't working and focus on their goals.
Scorpio
“Mars spends most of the fall in your sign until December 7, which means you’re getting a big boost of energy from your ruling planet,” says Wehler. “That’s energy to take action, intense focus, determination, and dedication to finishing what you start.”
For this reason, Scorpios will feel more motivated than usual and this will inspire them to act on personal goals and transform areas of life that feel frozen. Mars, one of the planets of their sign, along with Pluto, is associated with energy and determination.
“Productivity for Scorpio this fall is about precision and purpose: removing distractions, diving deep, and channeling energy into something that really matters,” she says. “With Mars on your side, what you decide to accomplish now could benefit from a little extra magic and synchronization.”

Everyone should also be careful about Pisces. According to Wehler, they will undergo some big changes in the coming months.
"You've been in a building phase since March 2023, when Saturn entered your sign after about 30 years, and now you're starting to see the results of all that effort. This fall marks a culminating moment: the lessons, boundaries, and commitments you've honed over the past two years are starting to crystallize."
Therefore, projects will come together and goals will materialize and you will feel a deep sense of “Wow, I really did this.” This is harvest time for Pisces, a moment to believe how far you have come and to take what is yours.
