# 1 - Tests and follicles
To understand if your hair is generally healthy and that hair loss is something you should not worry about, you should first check the roots.
What to do:
Pull a strand of hair, but make sure to hold it as close to the head as possible, so that the root is still attached to the hair. Check the follicle. The normal end of the root of a strand should be bulb-shaped, so if you see it, your hair is healthy. If your hair is weak or without any such shape, then they are weak and need care.
Some ways to prevent falling:
- Following the Mediterranean diet. One study says it reduces the risk of hair loss.
- Avoid holding hair too tightly, especially during sleep, as it can lead to hair loss.
- Take certain vitamins and minerals.
# 2 - Sink test
This test measures how strong your hair is. Damaged hair absorbs fluids faster.
What to do:
Pull a few strands of hair from different parts of the head, such as the top, back, and sides. Throw the fibers in a glass of water. Completely healthy fibers will tend to stay higher, relatively healthy ones will decrease slightly, and the most damaged ones will sink completely.
Some ways to make your hair stronger:
- Put different types of oils.
- Use hair conditioner during every wash.
- Put aloe vera to adjust the pH balance of your hair as little as possible.
# 3 - Tensile test
This test is intended to check the elasticity of your hair.
It can be done with these simple steps:
Carefully pull a strand of hair. Next, gently pull on both ends. If it stretches and turns back when you let it go, it is healthy. If it breaks easily, it is quite weak.
Here are some tips to restore elasticity to your hair:
- Allow to dry naturally. The heat impairs the elasticity of the hair.
-Try to apply honey masks on the hair.
