Water is essential to our physical health and well-being. However, it is not unusual for it to be difficult to stay hydrated all day, due to work, meetings, family and many other commitments.
"Everything in your body depends on hydration, organ function and hormone balance," explains nutritionist Kimberly Snyder. "When you're hydrated, joints are lubricated, skin is nourished and hair follicles grow healthily," she adds. There are many factors that affect the issue of hydration, while subtle changes in this balance can lead to distortion of the signals that are sent to the brain, mood swings, feelings of anxiety, bad sleep, etc.
Here are some easy ways to stay hydrated while doing yourself and your health a favor.
#1 Customize the amount of water you need each day
#2 Take electrolyte supplements (minerals that are related to body fluids and are indicators of the level of water and other fluids in the body)
#3 Drink water or liquids at room temperature
#4 Drink a glass of water every morning
#5 Drink water or juice with meals, not during them
#6 Consume foods rich in water and minerals (cucumber, watermelon, etc.)
#7 Moderately alternate water with coffee and alcohol
#8 Add fruits and vegetables rich in magnesium and potassium (bananas, avocados, potatoes, etc.)
#9 Always carry a water bottle with you
#10 Minimize processed foods and meat in your diet
