This morning, at 05:05, Tirana was shaken by a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt throughout the capital and surrounding areas.
According to the Institute of Geosciences, Energy, Water and Environment, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of about 10 kilometers, near the eastern areas of Tirana.
Fortunately, so far there are no reports of major material damage or injuries.
The earthquake is a reminder of the importance of preparation and awareness for natural disasters in the country.
