The average marriage rate across the European Union during 2017 was 4.3 per 1000 inhabitants.
Lezha has the highest number of marriages associated per 1,000 inhabitants in 2017. According to the data published by INSTAT, the rate of marriages in Lezha District was 10.2 per 1000 inhabitants, while the average across the country was 7.7.
In addition to Lezha, other counties that have a higher number than the national average for marriages are Berat with 9.2 marriages per 1000 inhabitants, Dibra with 8.7, Durres and Fier respectively 8.3 and Elbasani with 8.2. The lowest record for marriages tied during 2017 holds the capital.
