The Academic Senate of the University of Arts met today and in support of the student protest unanimously decided to accept their requests. The statement published on the university's official website reads:
"The Academic Senate of the University of Arts in the meeting of 13.12.2018 unanimously decided to:
1. Support the requirements formulated by the students.
2. Support the necessary reduction of tuition fees and ask the Administration Board to calculate the financial effect for the UART.
3. The Academic Senate of UART undertakes with responsibility the involvement of all financial, material and procedural mechanisms to guarantee maximum transparency and their realization within the academic year 2018-2019 of all necessary steps towards a qualitative artistic education, ethics in creativity and research, but also the direct involvement of students.
4. The Academic Senate of UART takes over the involvement in the institution's statute and internal regulation, codification of clear rules that will guarantee the necessary student participation in academic and financial activities.
5. The UART Academic Senate undertakes to establish a joint working group, lecturers and students, to review all issues raised and other issues related to improving UART's workability.
